Two memoirs of Mailer’s last years (10.01, Dwayne Raymond; 10.02, Norris Church Mailer’s A Ticket to the Circus) and the first of Lawrence Schiller’s oversize Taschen photo-books, Moonfire (10.03), an illustrated abridgment of Of a Fire on the Moon. Norris Church Mailer died on 11 November 2010. The Mailer Review’s fourth volume — a special issue on Mailer and Hemingway — is added below from its contents (Stream A). Its centerpiece is the only known letter Hemingway wrote to Mailer (12 August 1959), discovered by J. Michael Lennon in 2009 in the Ransom Center papers and first published here alongside Lennon’s framing essay; the issue otherwise gathers some two dozen comparative essays and a cluster of personal encounters (grouped below). Mailer’s own contributions to the issue (“Postscript to the Fourth Advertisement for Myself”; the poems retitled “Hemingway Revisited”) are reprints and are omitted under Lennon’s exclusion policy.
