Norman Rosten

Brooklyn poet, Mailer's friend; Brooklyn's poet laureate, whom Mailer eulogized in 1995 as 'the quintessence' of the Brooklyn 'good guy.'

Norman Rosten, the Brooklyn poet (and Brooklyn’s poet laureate), was a friend of Mailer’s. At a 17 May 1995 memorial ceremony, a letter from Mailer was read calling Rosten “the quintessence” of the “good guy” from Brooklyn (95.19).
