Norman Mailer, Brooklyn-raised and Harvard-educated, is among the most influential, and colorful, writers of our time. The winner of the National Book Award and Pulitizer Prize for “The Armies of the Night” in 1969 and the Pulitizer Prize again in 1980 for “The Executioner’s Song,” Mailer reflected on writing with Tribune literary editor Elizabeth Taylor.
