Mailer: 'I Don't Think About It'

A brief New York Post report by Normand Poirier on Mailer learning, from a reporter, of his felony indictment for the stabbing of Adele Morales. He would not comment on the case but, asked whether it was affecting his writing, said: 'I really couldn't say if this is affecting the writing. I don't think about it — except on certain days.'

The first known interview of Mailer about the stabbing prosecution. Poirier reports that Mailer learned from a reporter of his indictment for felonious assault. Mailer would not comment on the case, but on being asked whether it was affecting his writing, said: “I really couldn’t say if this is affecting the writing. I don’t think about it — except on certain days.”
