Two Mailer poems in the February 1963 issue of Way Out — 'Smog Doggerel for the Haze' and 'Static.' The same issue also contains 'An Open Letter to Norman Mailer' by Robert Anton Wilson, pp. 51-57, in which Wilson quotes from an earlier letter from Mailer asking him to 'expand your remarks on entropy.' Reprinted: 'Static' only, in Cannibals and Christians (66.11).

The February 1963 Way Out cover (above) advertises Mailer’s two new poems alongside Bruno Schubert on Gesell’s Natural Economic Order, Ralph Borsodi on the humanization of man, and Robert Anton Wilson on sex, god, art, and entropy — a snapshot of the niche-libertarian / heterodox intellectual circle in which Mailer was peripherally moving in early 1963.
