Mailer Offers Views on Amateur Movie

Janet Piorko and Mimi Boudart's University of Delaware Review report on the Maidstone showing, in which Mailer traces the film's impetus to the assassination of Robert Kennedy.

“Mailer Offers Views on ‘Amateur’ Movie,” an article by Janet Piorko and Mimi Boudart in the Review (University of Delaware, 22 February 1972), is the second report on Mailer’s University of Delaware appearance after a showing of Maidstone (71.28). Mailer said the film’s impetus came from the assassination of Robert Kennedy — the event “hit deep … in a way which is almost impossible to describe now.”
