“Courage in Profiles,” Paul Galloway’s interview, ran in the Chicago Tribune on 12 May 1997 (Sec. 5, pp. 1, 5), as Mailer promoted The Gospel According to the Son in Chicago (with a WGN radio appearance on Milt Rosenberg’s “Extension 720”). He discusses the first-person point of view and his admiration for the Jesus story, “the keel of western civilization.”
