Norman Mailer: Works and Days

Bibliography 2016

A posthumous-recovery year: The Mailer Review prints “The Collision,” Mailer’s earliest surviving story (written January 1933, age ten), with an introductory note by J. Michael Lennon. The typescript survived not in the Ransom Center but with Barney Mailer’s South African relatives, brought back by Mailer’s cousin Stephen Chipkin. The story carries no Lennon legacy id (post-2007). It is treated as short fiction in the companion project Norman Mailer’s Short Fiction (nmsf-id the-collision).
