A family portrait survives from the year showing Barney with Barbara (age four) and Norman (eight) — the earliest image in the archive of the three together.
The Mailers remain at Cortelyou Road in Flatbush; Norman is in the second or third year at P.S. 181. The family photograph above is the last Flatbush-era image — a January 1932 move to Crown Heights is months away. See 1932.
