Al Morales

A former professional boxer and the father of Mailer's second wife Adele Morales. From the fall of 1956, at Bridgewater, he taught Mailer to box — the beginning of a lifelong preoccupation.

Al Morales, Adele‘s father and a former professional boxer, became Mailer’s boxing tutor after the Mailers moved to Bridgewater, Connecticut in the fall of 1956. Boxing would remain one of Mailer’s enduring subjects and pastimes.
