Norman Mailer: Works and Days

Laura Adams

American literary scholar and early Mailer bibliographer; editor of Will the Real Norman Mailer Please Stand Up (1974) and author of Existential Battles: The Growth of Norman Mailer (1977). Her bibliographic work is part of the lineage behind Works and Days.

Laura Adams, a literary scholar and early Mailer critic, edited the collection Will the Real Norman Mailer Please Stand Up (Kennikat, 1974) — which reprinted Bruce Cook’s 1972 interview as “Aquarius Rex” (72.21) — and wrote Existential Battles: The Growth of Norman Mailer (Ohio University Press, 1977). Her bibliographic compilation of Mailer’s work is among the earlier efforts (with those of Robert F. Lucid and Thomas Fiske) on which the print Works and Days and this project ultimately build.

Stub created during the 1972 ingest.
