“Mailer Calls Nixon a Dickens ‘Heep’ Creep,” an article by Betty Jones (Washington Daily News, 6 May 1970), repeats Mailer’s comments about Nixon and Uriah Heep from 70.8 and adds his remark: “It is routine for anyone in the peace movement to spend time in prison. I am hardly one of the martyrs of the movement.”
