“Mailer on Mailer: An Interview,” by Matthew Grace and Steve Roday in the New Orleans Review 3, no. 3 (229–34), an important interview in which Mailer discusses several of his books, narrative technique, and the novel. He gave it just before “The Prisoner of Sex” (71.10) appeared in the March 1971 Harper’s; the interview was held back to appear with three essays on Mailer in this number of the Review.
