A New York Times item in which Mailer clarifies why he left the William Morris Agency on returning from the war - his agent had left, not over money.

“Mailer’s Memory,” an article by Herbert Mitgang in the New York Times (1 July 1979). Mailer clarifies a 3 June Times item about why he left the William Morris Agency when he returned from the war “with the seeds, I expect, of ‘The Naked and the Dead’” — namely, because his agent Berta Kaslow had left the agency, not over money or a grudge.
