April — A Ticket to the Circus
On 10 April Random House publishes A Ticket to the Circus (10.02), the memoir of Norris Church Mailer, Mailer’s wife of twenty-seven years, which prints several of his love letters to her.
November — the Society conference
November 4–6 — The Norman Mailer Society holds its 8th annual conference in Sarasota, Florida, on the theme “Mailer and Hemingway”; its proceedings anchor The Mailer Review’s 2010 Hemingway special issue. Conference program (PDF).
November — Norris Church Mailer’s death
Norris Church Mailer died on 11 November 2010, of cancer. The Mailer Review’s 2011 issue would devote 166 pages to her memory (11.04).
