Letter to the Editor (Hollywood Reporter)
Mailer's letter answering Germaine Greer's review of The Executioner's Song and defending Lawrence Schiller against the charge that the book was 'spliced' together by others.
A letter to the editor of the Hollywood Reporter (3 January 1980), answering Germaine Greer‘s 7 December review of The Executioner’s Song (79.14). Mailer insists that Greer’s implication that the book was “spliced” together by others is false, and that Lawrence Schiller — far from being a “super ghoul” — was “a powerful asset” who did half the interviews. Reprinted in Mind of an Outlaw (14.3).
