Norman Mailer: Works and Days

Germaine Greer

Australian writer and feminist, author of The Female Eunuch (1970); a panelist at the 30 April 1971 Town Hall 'Dialogue on Women's Liberation' with Mailer and the author of 'My Mailer Problem' (Esquire, September 1971).

Germaine Greer, the Australian writer whose The Female Eunuch (1970) made her an international figure of Women’s Liberation, was a panelist at the “Dialogue on Women’s Liberation” held at Town Hall in New York on 30 April 1971, with Mailer moderating. Her account of the evening, “My Mailer Problem” (71.27), appeared in Esquire that September — the issue whose George Lois cover parodied Mailer as King Kong holding Greer as Fay Wray.
