Vance Bourjaily

American novelist and editor (1922–2010), co-editor with John W. Aldridge of Discovery (1953–55, Pocket Books paperbacks), contributing editor to Mentor/NAL's New World Writing series, and later a long-serving faculty member at the Iowa Writers' Workshop. Dedicatee of Mailer's "The Paper House" (52.2), for which he supplied "the anecdote on which the story is based."
