American cultural-political quarterly (1934–2003) edited for its flagship decades by Philip Rahv and William Phillips. Central journal of the New York intellectuals. The venue of Diana Trilling's "A Note on The Naked and the Dead" in 1948 (not in Lennon's bibliography but flagged in `backlog.md`); Mailer's first contribution is the symposium piece "Our Country and Our Culture" (52.1) in May–June 1952. PR will host Mailer on several further occasions through the 1950s, including 58.4 and 59.11.
