Fifth installment of the An American Dream Esquire serial. A summary by Esquire editors of the first four installments is found on p. 158, concluding with the line: 'The Dial Press will publish An American Dream in August.' Dial published the novel — but not until the following March (15 March 1965). The 12 October 1964 Publishers Weekly contains an advertisement for the novel and gives a January publication date.
