Town Hall, the performance and lecture hall on West 43rd Street in Manhattan, was the site of the “Dialogue on Women’s Liberation” on 30 April 1971, sponsored by New York University and the Theatre for Ideas. Mailer moderated a panel of Germaine Greer, Jill Johnston, Diana Trilling, and Jacqueline Ceballos; the evening became D. A. Pennebaker’s documentary Town Bloody Hall.
