The New York publishing house (founded 1924 by Richard L. Simon and M. Lincoln Schuster) that issued the 1948 anthology Cross-Section, carrying the advance excerpt from The Naked and the Dead (48.1), and the 1958 book Mike Wallace Asks, which reprinted Mailer's Wallace interview (58.7).
Simon and Schuster published Cross-Section: A Collection of New American Writing (March 1948), edited by Edwin Seaver, which carried “The Naked and the Dead” advance excerpt (48.1). A decade later the firm published Mike Wallace Asks, ed. Charles Preston and Edward A. Hamilton (1958), which reprinted Mailer’s Mike Wallace interview as “Norman Mailer” (58.7).
