Rpt: as “An Appreciation of Henry Miller” in 72.7, 82.19, and the premier issue of Black Messiah (1981), where Mailer adds a footnote recalling that he saw Miller, by then blind in one eye and using a walker, “out in Pacific Palisades” around 1975–76.
