The Essential Mailer, a British omnibus published by New English Library (Sevenoaks, Kent) on 1 August 1982 (586 pp.). It combines two earlier collections — The Short Fiction of Norman Mailer (67.11) and Existential Errands (72.7) — with two excisions: the introduction to the short fiction, which had been reprinted in Existential Errands, appears only once here (at the head of the short fiction), and the original dedication to Existential Errands was dropped.
