An advertisement for Marilyn: A Biography (73.30), composed by Mailer and run in the New York Times (9 December 1973). In the manner of his 1955 Deer Park advertisement (55.5), it juxtaposes positive and negative quotes from the reviews, answers Mike Wallace‘s editing of the 60 Minutes interview, and reports the print run: 400,000 copies. In the same advertisement Zolotow retracts his plagiarism charge and Guiles is said never to have made one.
